Behavioural Feeding Difficulties
Sue Strudwick, Specialist SLT

On 15 May 2008, we were thrilled to welcome Sue Strudwick, Specialist SLT, to Auditory VerbalUK. She ran an extremely informative and interactive day, teaching the fifteen therapists present about the normal development of feeding and the causes of feeding difficulties. We then went on to have a turn at feeling what its like to be fed and thinking of tips and advice for parents of children who find feeding difficult or are ‘fussy eaters.’

The following day, Sue ran some feeding clinics for children who are on the programme at AVUK, allowing us to get some ‘on the job’ training in how to work with our children with feeding difficulties. Thanks to Sue’s wonderful teaching, we now feel thoroughly equipped to offer advice to the parents of our children who find mealtimes a challenge.
