Professional Pages: Diploma Course in Auditory Verbal Therapy

There are currently only five Certified Auditory Verbal Therapists® in the UK, three of whom work at AV^UK. Each month our three therapists see over 50 families and yet we continue to carry a waiting list. It is imperative that the number of Certified AV therapists is increased. To that end, working in partnership with the School of Life & Health Sciences at Aston University in Birmingham , AV^UK has developed Europe 's first university approved course in AVT.

January 2007 saw the first intake of three students: a Teacher of the Deaf from the London area, an Audiologist from the Midlands, and a Speech and Language Therapist from Scotland. On 8 March we were delighted to welcome all three students and their course tutor to AVUK for a day's workshop with our professional team. All three students were awarded Prize Studentships – two funded by the AVUK Prize Studentship Fund and the third by a charitable trust.
